M-lok: I feel like your m-lok rail slot is going to break before a plastic or metal vfg are destroyed. 6061 aluminum isn't bomb proof (which most of these grips are probably made out of) Aluminum still bends or cracks where it is thinnest. The mounting method is the weak link, not so much the material. Just as strong as the metal ones? Not that I can see. Battle proven, lighter, cooler, just as strong. If you want a hand-to-hand fighting system, get a bayonet lug set up.įor broom handle classic forward grip, I'll take the KAC "plastic crud", please. You can buy the actual KAC brand one from midwayusa and they have a sale right now on it: The ex-military guy you're referring to would use that, not some sort of metallic one. If you want a good vertical grip, I recommend the KAC brands. Why would you use something as a bipod when you can use an actual bipod if you're having to shoot on it so much? Why would you use your rifle to push something as oppose to just using your weakside hand to push it? Why would you use your vertical grip to smack someone as oppose to hitting them with the butt of the rifle which would hurt more? Plus if while hitting home run derbies with your grip, what if you miss and your barrel gets struck on something bending or canting the muzzle device? ![]() Free floated or not, the rails are directly on the barrel nut and breaking that puts you out of the fight. Slapping someone upside the noggin with it will probably cant your rails, and having metal grips won't make it any better or worse. Regardless of it being metal, you're bounded by the weakest point which is the rail. Not sure how or why you'd use a grip to smack something or push something. It's statement like this that makes me realize why people like Steven Seagal have a business giving advice to swat teams.
